Be rested. To make you feel less sensitive during your brazilian wax session, try to avoid caffeine, stress and nicotine. Be sure to have lots of sleep so that you can relax.
Be clean. Shower and lightly exfoliate your entire bikini area right before your appointment using warm, not hot water. Make sure you're extra clean. This will allow you to be more comfortable during the Brazilian wax session as your beautician will become very intimate with your pubic area.
Be dry. Don't use any lotions in bikini area, you'll get better results if your skin is less oily.
Be hairy. Your hair should be within 0.25 to 0.50 inches in length (which makes it long enough to lay flat on your skin). Please don't shave for at least three weeks prior to your appointment to ensure that your hair is long enough! Otherwise it will not be possible to have a clean removal. Also, if you've 'let it go' down there and it seems out of control, don't worry! Our specialists will trim any longer hairs to the proper length prior to the removal process. This will ensure less pain during the waxing process.
Be comfortable. If possible, wear loose clothing that day to prevent irritation in the post-wax phase.
Be relaxed. Reportedly the more relaxed your muscles are, the better your hair removal results will be!
Pain preventers. Take an aspirin or Tylenol 30- 45 minutes before your appointment if you're worried about pain.
Post Brazilian Waxing Care
No Swimming. Avoid Swimming and sunning for at least 2 or 3 days
Watch your fashion choices. Wear loose and cotton clothing for the next few days.
Hands off. Keep hands away from touching freshly waxed skin, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples.
Opt for a shower. Avoid hot tubs, Hot Baths and other chlorinated water for at least 48 hours.
Too hot. No tanning beds, saunas, or steam rooms for the next two days.
Relax. Avoid heavy exercise for next 48 hours. Sweating can trigger skin problems as after waxing your skin becomes more vulnerable.
Short-term abstinence. Sexual activity should be avoided for at least 24 - 48 hours as your pores are open and vulnerable to irritation and infection
Exfoliate. Two full days later use a mild exfoliator. Exfoliation helps remove dead skin and avoid ingrown hairs. Avoid exfoliating products such scrubs and loofas and opt for more gentle exfoliating products/wash cloths
Moisturize. Moisturize the genital areas after every shower as this will have a soothing healing and antibacterial effect. Anti-biotic cream can also be used to prevent infection
Fight the bumps. If you get any ingrown hairs, ask your specialist for recommendations for getting rid of pesky ingrowns. Use ice if you have redness and bumping.
No Shaving. Shaving can trigger skin problems after waxing. Instead, apply a hair inhibitor to slow the regrowth of hair. Hair inhibitors can last up to two months
